About the Position

As a Probation Division Director I, you will oversee several unit operations and programs, establish goals, monitor programs, and manage a dedicated staff of professionals. The position is responsible for day-to-day activities and operations of assigned programs that include Juvenile Hall and Probation Camp; ensuring effective and safe work practices; program implementation and evaluation; monitoring program and/or facility budgets; and serving as a technical resource for staff.

Qualifications:

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

• A degree in sociology, psychology, counseling, social work, criminology, or closely related field
• A strong commitment to the field of Probation and demonstrated experience handling and leading system change
• Experience with project management, program development, and modern Probation operations specific to detention facilities
• The ability to coach and develop staff
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build partnerships with key stakeholders
• Conflict-management skills
• Knowledge of budget, finance, personnel management, and employee relations
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to set goals and manage priorities
