Salary:

$120,973-$147,014 annually base salary.  In addition to base salary, the County of San Joaquin provides a competitive Executive Management benefit package for this position, including additional cashable compensation which provides for a total compensation package of $165,044 to $193,890.

Description:

San Joaquin County is seeking an experienced senior-level manager to provide administrative oversight and strategic direction for the Department of Public Health Services. The Department, with a staff of over 200 professionals, provides a culturally diverse population of nearly 700,000 with conventional public health services. The Director is responsible for leading, managing, and administering public health services programs, functions, budgets and activities and ensuring their compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as the policies established by the Director of Health Care Services, the County Administrator, and the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors. The position is expected to model a strong work ethic and leadership skills.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to effectively manage and build consensus among staff, collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies on public health related issues that affect the community, has expertise in public health related federal and state laws and regulations and community trends, has knowledge and/or experience with national public health accreditation, and has strong analytical and effective decision-making skills.
