$166,496 – $227,271 Annual

Description:

The successful candidate will have a unique and exciting opportunity to manage and coordinate the key land use departments within county operations. While reporting to the County Administrative Officer (CAO), the new Director will have a staff of eight direct reports including the Deputy Resource Management Agency Director and heads of the seven operational departments/divisions.

The RMA Director will be a strong leader and excellent administrator who combines a solid foundation of technical skills with an innovative, strategic and visionary approach to planning and development. The ability to create relationships and consensus through diplomacy, effective communications with a high level of land use expertise, are essential attributes in this role. The ideal candidate will have exceptional management skills with a proven record of creating effective, high performance and service oriented operations along with expertise in the area of intergovernmental relations.

Qualifications:

Education and training equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Engineering or Planning; AND
At least three (3) years of executive management experience in a large and complex organization including experience working in local government with elected officials. A Master’s degree is desirable.
