Description:
The County of El Dorado is conducting this recruitment to fill
one (1) full-time vacancy for the Human Resources Department -
Risk Management Division located in Placerville that may be
filled at any of the following levels: Risk Managment Analyst
I/II, Sr. Risk Management Analyst or Principal Risk Management
Analyst. This recruitment will establish a list that may be used
for a minimum of three months to fill future full-time vacancies
in this department.
Position Overview:
Under direction, (based on job description) provides professional
assistance to the Risk Manager and other County management staff
regarding risk management functions; will work with one or more
Risk Management programs which may include health benefits
administration, employee disability and accommodation
administration, workers’ compensation, employee health and safety
including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP),
FMLA/CFRA/medical leaves, and related discrimination, harassment
and/or retaliation complaint investigation; assists in
administration of the daily operation of payroll and sick leave
usage, employee communications, and/or benefit coordination
activities; may participate in employer/employee relations
matters.
Qualifications:
Where college degrees and/or college course credits are required,
degrees and college units must be obtained from an accredited
college or university. Courses from non-accredited institutions
will not be evaluated for this requirement.
Principal Risk Management Analyst:
Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university
with major coursework in business or public administration, risk
management, employee benefits or a related field AND two years of
advanced journey level experience in a centralized risk
management or human resources setting at a level equivalent to
the class of Senior Risk Management Analyst. Experience in a
public agency setting as the Health and Safety Officer is
desirable.
Sr. Risk Management Analyst:
Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university
with major coursework in business or public administration,
industrial engineering or a related field, two years of
professional level experience in risk management and/or employee
benefits -and- administration at a level to the County’s class of
Risk Management Analyst II.
Risk Management Analyst I/II:
Level I: Equivalent to graduation from a four year college or
university with major coursework in business or public
administration, industrial engineering or a related field.
Support experience in a risk management or employee benefits
function may be substituted for the education on a year for year
basis to a maximum of two years.
Level II: In addition to the above, two years of professional
level experience in risk management and/or employee benefits
administration at a level to the County’s class of Risk
Management Analyst I.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Individuals who do not
meet this requirement due to physical disability will be reviewed
on a case by case basis.
