Description:

Senior Auditors perform a wide variety of professional auditing duties and activities to determine the financial status, legality, propriety, and effectiveness of the financial and accounting practices and procedures of County departments and other entities subject to County audit. Incumbents perform large, complex audits, and/or provide lead direction to one or more auditors and may also supervise or direct other staff.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education, training and experience likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities for this classification as described above. Typically this includes but is not limited to:

1) Two years of experience as an Auditor (Level II) in Sacramento County service

OR

2) A bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university and four years of professional accounting/auditing experience that includes one year of leading or performing complex audits.

Note:
1. Experience may be paid or unpaid.
2. Semester units are converted to quarter units on the basis of six semester units equal nine-quarter units.
3. An accredited college or university includes accredited business or correspondence schools; coursework at such schools is converted to semester units on the basis that one semester unit equals 15 hours of instruction.
