Tehama County is excited to announce an opportunity for a Social Services Director. The Social Services Director is responsible for the overall administration, as well as the day to day operations, of the Social Services Department, Community Action Agency and Housing Authority. With an annual budget of approximately $40 million and over 200 staff members, the Social Services Department is one of the largest County agencies with one of the most crucial roles. Tehama County is seeking a Social Services Director capable of leading the Social Services Department through innovative and effective high quality management.

Qualifications:

Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

•Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade AND a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Public Administration, Business Administration, Personnel Management, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education or a closely related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

•Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience involving the management and supervision of social services programs and staff.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
