Description:

The County of El Dorado is conducting this recruitment to establish a list, for a minimum of three months, which may be used to fill future full-time, part-time and extra-help vacancies located in Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. There is currently one (1) full time vacancy for the Planning and Building Department located in Placerville.

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, coordinates and reviews the work of a group of development technicians; processes the more complex building permit applications, including those for commercial and industrial projects; receives plans, calculates fees, routes plans for professional review an reviews basic plans within specific guidelines; confers with applicants regarding County procedures and plan requirements; performs specialized technical support work.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is the working lead level in the development technician series with responsibility for providing lead direction to other permit center staff as well as performing specialist level, complex work. This is not considered a supervisory class in that the selection and discipline of employees is not assigned to this level.

Qualifications:

One year of experience in reviewing building plans and processing building permits and inspection reports at a level equivalent to the County’s class of Development Technician II.
