Description:

The County of Nevada, California, located in the scenic Sierra foothills, seeks a Supervising Deputy Probation Officer to supervise, counsel and investigate adult and juvenile probation­ers to ensure adherence to court-ordered conditions of probation; recommend sentencing to the Courts; provide for the rehabilitation of probationers; supervise assigned staff, staff a satellite office or administer a specialized program; and perform related work as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminology or one of the behavioral or social sciences or a related field, and equivalent to three years of journey-level probation casework in a parole or probation program at a level equivalent to Nevada County’s classification of Deputy Probation Officer II. Please see website for a complete list of requirements.
