$35.72 – $51.40 Hourly    $2,857.60 – $4,112.00 Biweekly    $6,191.47 – $8,909.33 Monthly    $74,297.60 – $106,912.00 Annually

Description:

It is the role of the Supervising Mental Health Counselor I/II to provide direct services, coordinate care for the family, and provide leadership for the activity of the team as a whole.  This position also acts as a liaison with other program units within the department and with outside agencies; to develop and evaluate complex community agency contracts; and/or to supervise staff providing clinical casework counseling and treatment.

Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:

Experience:

Two years of professional experience equivalent to the Mental Health Counselor-Licensed in Napa County.

Education:

Master’s or doctorate degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field approved by the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences to provide psychotherapy.

AND

Licensure:

LCSW, or MFT, license by the California State Board of Behavioral Science plus 2 years post Master’s degree experience providing psychotherapy services

OR

Licensure as a Clinical Psychologist or a PH.D. or Psy.D. and 2 years of clinical experience, or master’s level Registered Nurse.

License or Certificate:

Incumbent in this position is expected to operate automotive vehicles in the performance of assigned duties. Due to assignments and hours worked, public transportation may not be an efficient method for traveling to required locations. Individuals appointed will be required to maintain a valid California Driver’s License while employed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Background Investigation:

Incumbents for some positions in this class will be required to pass a background investigation in accordance with applicable law, regulation and or policy.
