$110,596.49 – $134,431.40 Annually

Description:

The Technical Services Division Director oversees one of the largest divisions within the department, which includes a staff of forty-eight technical personnel and an annual budget of sixteen million dollars. The division is responsible for the County’s centralized information technology infrastructure and end user device management programs for approximately five thousand clients working for twenty-six County departments and many local government agencies. This position works with Administration, Systems & Programming, and Information Management Division Directors in serving the growing technology needs of the County enterprise and directs four IS Project Managers who oversee the day to day functions of various work teams. 

The ideal candidate will have proven experience meeting the business needs of the user community, maintaining effective working relationships with customers and vendors, and will support an environment that encourages high service delivery standards, employee personal growth, and a high degree of technical proficiency. Key to this position are knowledge and skills that demonstrate an understanding of best practices in technology management and the ability to mentor and support continuous development and improvement efforts while staying current with industry trends and their associated service demands.

Qualifications:

Education: Normally, graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field would provide this opportunity.

Experience: Normally, six years of technical professional experience involving systems analysis, programming, systems engineering, or similar field in a multi-platform information systems environment, including two years providing project supervision and management would provide this opportunity. Specific experience related to the work of the assigned division may be required. Additional highly relevant professional experience may be substituted for the required education.

License: Possession of a valid driver’s license at the appropriate level including necessary special endorsements, as required by the State of California to perform the essential job functions of the position.
