Back to News
Last week, CSAC staff provided an update on the $1.2 trillion Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 federal appropriations package as it was signed into law, authorizing funding of the federal government through September 30, 2026.
Included among the appropriations passed are the Commerce-Science-Justice (CJS) appropriations, and for FY 2026, CJS was funded at $89.45 billion with the Department of Justice (DOJ) receiving $37.05 billion, a $47 million decrease from FY 2025. However, as reported in last week’s bulletin, the Department of Homeland Security (DSH) is currently only funded until Friday, February 13, 2026, as negotiations over immigration enforcement reforms continue.
