The Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Response (OHSEPR), as part of the federal Administration for Children & Families (ACF), is launching the OHSEPR National Challenge to identify and advance solutions that strengthen disaster readiness and recovery.

On MondayJune 22, 2026 at 12:00 PM PT, OHSEPR will host a webinar to launch the official announcement of the National Challenge and explain how organizations with established partnerships and implementation-ready solutions can help shape the future of disaster-ready human services systems. Participants will hear from ACF leadership and learn about the two Challenge tracks, entry process, timeline, and how existing solutions can help advance innovation and strengthen communities.

The two Challenge tracks are:

  1. A Home for Every Child: Disaster-Ready Foster and Kinship Support – Recognizing solutions that help children remain connected, supported, and stable when disasters disrupt communities.
  2. No Wrong Door: Human Services Integrated Response Challenge – Identifying partnership models capable of activating coordinated human services supports within 72 hours after incident stabilization.

Counties interested in participating in the National Challenge are encouraged to attend the webinar on June 22. Register here.
