On April 30, the CSAC staff proudly participated in Denim Day, a global movement to support survivors of sexual violence and raise awareness about the importance of consent. By wearing denim, CSAC joined millions worldwide in challenging harmful myths and standing in solidarity with survivors.

Organized by Peace Over Violence, Denim Day is observed annually on the last Wednesday of April during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The campaign began after a 1999 court ruling in Italy where a rape conviction was overturned because the victim wore tight jeans, implying consent. This sparked international outrage and led to the creation of Denim Day as a symbol of protest mistaken and destructive attitudes about sexual assault.

CSAC’s participation underscores the vital role counties play in fostering safe, informed, and inclusive communities.
