Senior Business Analyst
Join the Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) as a Senior Business Analyst.
Sonoma Water is recruiting an enthusiastic, emotionally intelligent, and skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our Information Technology team. The Senior Business Analyst plans, directs, and oversees the development of Sonoma Water’s technical and business systems.
The Sonoma Water Senior Business Analyst combines business planning and information technology expertise to analyze and transform business requirements into successful system implementations and process improvements. In this position, you will develop project requirements, charters, standardized procedures, and plan for the design and installation of new applications and systems. Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing project budgets
- Coordinating the migration of legacy Microsoft Access databases to modern, secure platforms, including identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities
- Facilitating meetings for the development and implementation of IT plans, coordinating policy documentation, and managing project implementations
- Developing project timelines, resource allocations, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation and status reporting
- Working with the IT team to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and critical target dates
- Acting as the liaison between IT teams and business units, facilitating cross-departmental technology implementations and communications
- Developing and delivering training content and providing guidance, training, and support to users
- Identifying and proposing improvements in the development and business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction
The ideal candidate will have many of the following:
- Extensive experience in systems analysis, software development lifecycle management, and enterprise-level integration solutions
- Proven track record in project management, including resource allocation, budget oversight, and successful delivery of complex technical initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training programs for diverse end-user groups
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to resolving technical challenges
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
