SENIOR ANALYST/PRINCIPAL ANALYST/DEPUTY COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
The Sutter County Administrative Office is seeking an experienced Analyst or Deputy County Administrative Officer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have an accounting background, with strong local government budget experience and a desire to shape local policy.
Analysts and Deputy County Administrative Officers assist in navigating sometimes difficult political, financial, and operational issues. They must be able to understand and interpret legislation important to the County, identify emerging issues that could affect the local community, and perform keen analysis on matters that affect the County services. The employee will be part of a team of skilled professionals and must be able to work collegially and collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and make polished presentations to individuals and the public are important to being successful in this position.
In addition to regular salary and benefits, this position receives 104 hours of administrative leave per year. This assignment also has the option to work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Education and Experience Required:
Senior Analyst:
A Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field; and three years of professional experience in administration, management, budget, or governmental administrative and/or analytical work, including one year at a level equivalent to an Administrative Analyst II in Sutter County or similarly complex organization; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Principal Analyst:
A Bachelor’s degree with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field; and four years of progressively responsible experience in administration, management, budget, or governmental administrative and/or analytical work, one year of which must have been at a level equivalent to a Senior Analyst in Sutter County or similarly complex organization. A Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred, and may substitute for one year of the required experience.
Deputy County Administrative Officer:
A Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field; and four years of progressively responsible experience in administration, management, budget, or governmental administrative and/or analytical work, one year of which must have been at a level equivalent to a Principal Analyst in Sutter County or similarly complex organization. A Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred, and may substitute for one year of the required experience.
