The County of Nevada, California seeks a Chief Appraiser to join our Assessor Management Team! This full-time position will contribute to the department’s long-term development and manage appraisal activities within the Assessor’s Office. The Chief Appraiser plans, prioritizes and directs the operation of the valuation division and has oversight of real and personal property appraisal processes.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in accounting, business or public administration, economics or a closely related field is required, and two years of experience at a level comparable to Nevada County’s classification of Senior Appraiser. Experience related to the appraiser function which will have provided the knowledge and skills outlined above may be substituted for the college education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years. Also requires a California State Board of Equalization Advanced Appraisal Certificate upon hire.
