Park Planner II $6,597 – $8,019/Monthly* Salary starting at $37.93/hour ($79,164/year), a cash allowance of $600/month, and a competitive total compensation package!* The Sonoma County Regional Parks Department is looking for a Park Planner II to conduct park planning studies to design and expand parks, park facilities, structures, and trails in unincorporated Sonoma County. As a Park Planner II, you will conduct preliminary field investigations of proposed parks, trails, bikeways, waterways and recreation sites to assess suitability and potential usage. Additional responsibilities include: • Soliciting and negotiating consultant services, evaluating and rating proposals, and negotiating contracts for services • Evaluating public demand and usage needs for park improvements and adding new park properties • Preparing land acquisition reports along with site and facility development plans • Representing the department in public meetings and presentations to other community groups and agencies

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will also possess: • Project management skills and attention to detail • Experience with land acquisition and zoning • An understanding of public funding procedures • Strong analytical and organization skills • Experience with park plan implementation
