This position is scheduled to receive a 5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for the next three consecutive years.

Butte County is seeking an Assistant Chief Administrative Officer!

The Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO) is a senior executive leadership role that supports the Chief Administrative Officer in managing the County Administration Department by overseeing the County’s overall operations and advancing organizational priorities set by the Board of Supervisors. Operating with a high degree of independence and discretion, the ACAO helps lead a complex, multi-department organization to ensure the effective delivery of public services and the achievement of Countywide strategic goals.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned public-sector professional with County or local government expertise to contribute at the highest levels of County government, helping shape policy, drive organizational performance, and enhance the delivery of services that directly impact the community.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Bachelor’s degree; and

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible executive level leadership in a government agency.  

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license upon date of application. Must obtain California driver’s license following hire date per California DMV regulations.
