Director of Fair and Fairground Events
DEFINITION
Under direction of the Board of supervisors to plan, organize, direct, and manage the Plumas and Sierra County Fair; to develop Fair program and Fairgrounds events in accordance with applicable rules and regulations of the Division of Fairs and Expositions of the State Department of Food and Agriculture; to perform special assignments as directed; and to do related work as required, Board of supervisors will have final authority over the Plumas-Sierra Fairgrounds.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a Department Head position with general responsibility for the development and management of the Plumas-Sierra County Fair and Fairground events.

Experience:
Three years of experience in the management and coordination of an event venue, such as a fair, festival, theme park, exposition or similar operation catering to the general public, including at least two years in a management or supervisory position.
Training:
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration or a related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a yearly basis.
