School & College Legal Services of California (SCLS) is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative legal leader to serve as its next General Counsel. This is a unique opportunity to lead a respected public agency law firm that serves TK-12 school districts, community colleges, and county offices of education across Northern California.

We are looking for a legal professional with:

  • Extensive public sector experience–you’ve advised public agencies and understand the legal framework guiding education, governance, labor and employment, and compliance.
  • Law office management expertise–you have a proven track record leading attorneys and professional staff, managing day-to-day legal operations, and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Executive-level judgment–you’re adept at setting strategic priorities, building an inclusive and effective team culture, and ensuring top-quality legal advocacy.
