San Diego Unified Port District v. Superior Court (Castanares) (D087218)

This case addresses the confidentiality of investigative reports that are prepared for a public agency by an attorney, specifically raising the issue of whether the attachments to the reports are exempt from disclosure under the attorney-client privilege to the same degree as the report itself. CSAC’s amicus brief, prepared by Mark Tuft at Womble Bond Dickinson in Walnut Creek, that the full report, including attachments, is privileged and cannot be ordered disclosed in response to a Public Records Act request.
