Senate Bill 707 (Durazo) represents the most substantial changes to the Brown Act in decades. CSAC is working to provide resources for implementation.

CSAC, Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC), Urban Counties of California (UCC), and the California Clerks of the Board of Supervisors Association (CCBSA) are teaming for a joint webinar on December 15, 2025 to walk counties through SB 707 (Durazo).

This session will offer both policy context and a technical breakdown of key changes, including updates to teleconferencing rules, regular meeting requirements, language access provisions, and ADA accommodations. Attendees will also receive insights into the evolving legislative landscape of the Brown Act as we look ahead to 2026 and beyond. Registration is open to county supervisors and staff.

Date: Monday, December 15th
Time: 10:00 am – 11:15 am

Until then, CSAC has a few resources to share to help counties prepare for the new law. First, CSAC created a summary guide to cover the details of SB 707: what changed, what didn’t, and when new laws are effective.
