On Tuesday, July 7, at 2:00 pm, the California Department of Aging (CDA) will host a webinar on the implementation status of SB 1249 (Chapter 337, Statutes of 2024).

Senate Bill 1249 was signed into law in 2024 and advanced several of the CA 2030 Steering Committee’s recommendations for a future-ready aging network in California. The legislation established CDA-led stakeholder processes to identify core programs and services, develop objectives and performance measurements for those core programs and services, develop a consumer engagement plan, and update the intrastate funding formula for area agencies on aging (AAAs). SB 1249 also required CDA to work with stakeholders to establish criteria for applying for a AAA designation and removing a AAA designation.

During the upcoming webinar, participants will learn about:

  • The purpose and importance of SB 1249 implementation
  • Current implementation priorities and progress
  • Upcoming milestones and engagement opportunities
  • Where to find resources, updates, and FAQ

Interested participants can register for the webinar here. Additional information related to CDA’s efforts to implement SB 1249, including links to resources and recording of previous webinars, can be found on CDA’s website
