California’s Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force, together with the Mammoth Lakes Trails and Public Access Foundation’s CALREC Vision Program and partners across the state, has released the “Joint Strategy for Sustainable Outdoor Recreation and Wildfire Resilience”. This first-of-its-kind strategy weaves together outdoor recreation and wildfire prevention, ensuring communities can enjoy safe access to the outdoors while also reducing the risks of catastrophic fire.

The Joint Strategy focuses on:

  1. Healthy forests and sustainable recreation
  2. Recreation access for all Californians
  3. Health and safety of all people
  4. Robust and diversified economies

The Task Force is advancing its sustainable and accessible recreation goals by collaborating with local, state, and tribal governments, as well as other partners across California. MLTPA is leading the Joint Strategy’s implementation effort throughout California.  Please visit the CALREC Vision website to learn how you can adopt the Joint Strategy in your county.
