CalPERS Presents Preliminary Health Plan Premiums for 2027

Earlier this week, CalPERS released preliminary health plan premiums for 2027. For more information on the process for rate development, the proposed rates, and changes to health plan offerings, please view the staff memo and presentation.  

Important changes include removal of UnitedHealthcare Basic plans (UnitedHealthcare Medicare plan will remain) due to high rate increases, the addition of the Sutter Health plan, and addition of a fertility benefit effective July 1, 2027. 

The CalPERS board will formally vote to adopt the premiums and other plan changes at their July offsite meeting scheduled for July 13-15.
