CSAC to Provide SB 827-Compliant Fiscal and Financial Training
Back to News
The CSAC Institute is preparing to launch a new training in response to Senate Bill 827, which establishes new fiscal and financial training requirements for local agency officials – including elected officials, appointed officials, and department heads.
SB 827 requires officials to complete training covering core areas of public finance, including municipal budgeting, financial reporting, capital financing, debt management, and ethical stewardship of public resources.
Officials who begin service on or after January 1, 2026, must complete the training within six months of their start date. Officials already in service as of January 1, 2026 must complete the training no later than January 1, 2028.
The CSAC Institute’s SB 827 training is expected to roll out in early 2026, with additional details shared as they become available. To receive SB 827 training updates, join the SB 827 Interest List here: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/2G9eNKJ/SB827
