Curious about compensation in neighboring counties? Want to dig into state and local workforce data? You’re in luck. The State Controller’s Office (SCO) released their 2024 self-reported payroll data report for California government agencies. The data reflect746,358 positions and nearly $67.28 billion in total wages.
This report is designed to provide transparency to Californians, reflecting how their tax dollars are allocated through public employment wages. The SCO’s office maintains and publishes payroll data for cities, counties, state departments, public universities, superior courts, select commissions, among others.
