RECAP: CSAC HHS Policy Committee Meeting on H.R. 1

On Monday, August 11, the CSAC Health and Human Services (HHS) Policy Committee convened to discuss the upcoming impacts to county health and social services programs following the recently passed federal budget reconciliation bill (H.R. 1).

The Committee was grateful to be joined by California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Director Jennifer Troia, who presented on the programmatic and estimated fiscal impacts to CalFresh, including expanded work requirements and changing cost shares.

The Committee was also joined by Tom Joseph of Paragon Government Relations who provided an overview of the upcoming impacts to Medi-Cal, including changes to eligibility, redeterminations, and work requirements.
