Registration Open for the 2026 CSAC Summit on Improving Domestic Violence Programs and Systems

Registration is now open for the 2026 CSAC Summit: Improving Domestic Violence Programs and Systems – AB 372 Implementation Update, taking place August 17-18 in Sacramento. The summit will bring together policymakers, county leaders, researchers, probation professionals, prosecutors, service providers, and other stakeholders to discuss the future of California’s domestic violence intervention system and the continued implementation of AB 372. Our tentative agenda is located HERE.

This year’s summit comes at an important time, following the release of two significant publications that will help inform the next phase of policy and practice in California.

First, the Year 6 Legislative Report provides an update on the implementation of AB 372, highlighting six years of progress, lessons learned, grant-funded activities, and recommendations as participating counties continue to advance evidence-based domestic violence interventions. Summit attendees will receive an overview of the report and hear directly from county leaders about how the pilot has changed local systems.

The summit will also feature a presentation from the California Policy Lab at UC Berkeley on its newly released statewide evaluation of the Domestic Violence Pilot Program. The evaluation found that the pilot’s risk- and needs-based approach significantly reduced two-year overall reconvictions compared to similar individuals in non-pilot counties, while finding no evidence of increased rearrests. These findings provide important evidence supporting individualized interventions over a one-size-fits-all model and help frame future policy discussions.

In addition to these presentations, the agenda includes discussions on behavioral health integration, evidence-based curriculum development, the offender-pay model, implementation experiences from pilot counties, and opportunities for future policy development.
