This week, the State Controller’s Office circulated the draft claiming instructions for the newly adopted test claim Emergency Shelters: Persons with Pets. Comments and feedback are due to the State Controller’s Office on or by October 23.

Why should counties submit comments? Counites use the claiming instructions to file for reimbursement from the state for state-mandated programs. Providing comments on the draft claiming instructions for clarity and accuracy supports an efficient reimbursement process in the future.

The Commission will conduct its next regular hearing tomorrow at 10am (Friday, October 9). Attendees can view and participate in the meeting via Zoom. The hearing agenda includes the following items of note for county governments:

Type of Matter Matter / Program Documents and Actions
Test Claim Local Public Employees: Vacant Positions, 25-TC-01 Proposed Decision
Statewide Cost Estimate Elections: Ballot Label, 24-TC-01 Proposed Statewide Cost Estimate
