As artificial intelligence (AI) and automated decision-making systems (ADS) are increasingly integrated into government operations, counties are exploring ways to use these technologies responsibly, transparently, and ethically to improve processes, enhance services, and support employees. CSAC supports policies that promote innovation while ensuring transparency, accountability, fairness, and public trust and will continue to advocate for policies that recognize the unique role that local governments play and avoid a one-size-fits-all approach that restricts counties’ policies, practices, or employment-related decisions.
