The City of San Jose seeks a Deputy Director of Emergency Services to oversee grant administration, budget management, community preparedness, and emergency response planning. Known as the “Capital of Silicon Valley,” the City plays a vital economic and cultural role anchoring the world’s leading region of innovation. The Office of Emergency Management has a staff of 11 FTEs and is heavily engaged in a community outreach and preparedness effort called Ready San Jose!

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree is required and candidates should have at least six years of experience, including managing a major local government division or department. A big picture visionary with excellent management skills is desired as the City collaborates with partnering agencies.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree and six years of progressively responsible experience, including some experience managing a major work unit.
