NACo Launches Innovative Knowledge-Sharing Network
County Innovation Network Available to Local Government and Affiliate Organizations
The National Association of Counties (NACo) has launched a new innovative, web-based network that is designed for local government peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and collaboration. Called the County Innovation Network (COIN), it is only available to local government and affiliate organizations’ members. It can be found at www.countyinnovation.us.
COIN provides the following services:
- Information Exchange – Members have the opportunity to share information by posting documents and media files spotlighting best practices, white papers, research and county documents.
- Helping Hands – An opportunity for COIN members to connect with trusted experts on a wide variety of issues.
- Community Hot Topics – Conversations around key issues, including technology and information, smart justice, healthy counties, rural and urban issues, transportation, and veterans and military services.
- Top of the Mind – Postings that spark conversations about topics of immediate interest.
- Groups – Members can create their own groups comprised of individuals who have the same interests and goals in order to initiate discussions, collaboration and share resources.
COIN provides additional benefits for NACo members, including access to the NACo App Store to share knowledge across count ymembership that has been developed by association members.
To register and begin using COIN is simple. Just click here and begin the process.
COIN is a partnership between the national association and the private firm Solutionize, Inc. The partnership has developed usage policies and governance processes to ensure optimal collaboration and communication, while meeting strict privacy requirements.
NACo’s Chief Innovation Officer, Dr. Bert Jarreau, is tentatively scheduled to spotlight COIN during the CSAC Annual Meeting’s Innovation Summit in November in Orange County.
