LegCon 2026: Administration of Justice (AOJ) Policy Committee Meeting Recap

The Administration of Justice (AOJ) Policy Committee met on Wednesday, May 20, during the CSAC Legislative Conference, and the meeting included a presentation on the juvenile justice continuum – legal shifts and system changes, as well as a panels on Proposition 36 (2024) implementation. 

The policy committee kicked off the convening with a discussion on the evolving juvenile justice continuum, led by Solano County’s Chief Probation Officer. See the presentation materials here. 

Next, the Judicial Council of California provided an update on Proposition 36 charges filed since December 2024, followed by district attorney and public defender offices from the counties of San Mateo, Sacramento, and Napa, delving into the challenges, needs and successes thus far. See the presentation materials here.
