CSAC Budget and Fiscal Advocacy Letters

May Revision budget letters

As California navigates the complexities of closing a significant state budget deficit, CSAC is urging a plan that prioritizes the well-being and safety of all communities.

CSAC’s key budget priorities reflect the real needs of counties and the communities they serve:

  • An annual commitment of at least $1 billion appropriation in the state budget for the Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP) grant program.
  • At least $250 million across several county departments to implement Proposition 36.
  • Broadly, a request to not pre-cut critical social safety net programs that may be further impacted, pending anticipated federal actions.
