SB 379 (Jackson) — Request for Comments

SB 379, by Senator Jackson, would require local governments upon the next revision of their housing element on or after January 2017 to update their safety element to include strategies to address climate adaptation. Specifically, the update would require cities and counties to consider advice from the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research and shall include the most current information on climate adaptation and a set of goals and objectives to address climate adaptation for the protection of the community. This bill will be heard in the Senate Governance and Finance Committee on April 15, 2015.
