The California Department of Housing and Community Development
recently released the
Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for approximately $18.7
million in new federal funds for the Community Development Block
Grant Coronavirus Response Round 1 (CDBG-CV1).
These funds are available pursuant to the Coronavirus Aid,
Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Funding is available
on an allocation basis for eligible non-entitlement
jurisdictions.
Funds are intended to support communities impacted by the
COVID-19 pandemic and may be used for the following types of
assistance:
Businesses and microenterprises/Economic development
Public services
Acquisition of real property to be used for treatment or
recovery of infectious diseases
Medical and homeless facility improvements
Applications must be submitted through HCD’s new online Grants
Network, eCivis
and will be accepted over-the-counter from June 8, 2020
through August 31, 2020.
HCD will be hosting a webinar to provide guidance on preparing a
CDBG-CV 1 application and to discuss expectations in operating
CDBG-CV1 funded activities. The webinar will be held on June 24,
