CEQA Reform Bill Amended

March 2, 2107

SB 80 by Senator Bob Wieckowski was recently amended. This bill would amend California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements related to notifications. The amendments to SB 80 would require the Office of Planning and Research (OPR) to develop guidelines for the implementation of CEQA to exempt classes of projects that do not have a significant impact on the environment; if a lead agency determines that a project is not subject to CEQA, the lead agency would be authorized to file a notice of the determination.
