CSAC Participates in Governments for Forest Health Working Group
April 16, 2020
On April 13th, Supervisors and CSAC staff participated in a meeting of the newly reworked Governments for Forest Health Working Group (G4HF). The meeting covered the working group’s new concept, a review of tree mortality concerns morphed over from the previous working group, and ideas to expand outreach by the group to increase local government participation. G4HF is a committee of the Governor’s Forest Management Task Force (FMTF) and is intending to broaden outreach not only to counties with forested lands, but oak woodlands, chaparral and grasslands as well in an effort to decrease fire threat and improve ecosystems across California.
The group is led by the FMTF Executive Director Jennifer Montgomery (Former Placer County Supervisor) and Brittany Dyer, Chair of the G4HF Working Group. CSAC Executive Director Graham Knaus recently sent out an email to Supervisors to help with recruitment for the group. If you are interested in participating, please email Brittany Dyer directly at firstname.lastname@example.org with a CC to Nick Cronenwett at email@example.com.
The group’s next meeting will take place on Monday June 8th at 10-11:30 AM. Call in and location details are to be determined.
