Expanding Access to Broadband – Get Connected California Day is October 22, 2022

September 15, 2022

Webinar for counties offered on September 22nd

The California Emerging Technology Fund is hosting its second Get Connected California! Day on Saturday, October 22, 2022, throughout California to expand access to eligible low-income households. Information about the program and locations (forthcoming) can be accessed at the Internet for All Now website.

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is helping millions of eligible households throughout the nation save hundreds of dollars on home internet. This federally funded initiative offers a $30 monthly discount on home internet (up to $75 per month for households on qualifying tribal lands) and a one-time discount of up to $100 for a computer or a tablet.

Any household that participates in the free and reduced-price school lunch program, CalFresh or SNAP, Lifeline, the Pell Grant, WIC (Women, Infants & Children), Medi-Cal, or Supplemental Security Income is eligible for the ACP benefit. About 27 percent of eligible households are currently enrolled in ACP. This tracker provides enrollment data at the local level by county and zip code.

For counties interested in participating in Get Connected California! Day, the California Emerging Technology Fund is hosting an information session on Thursday, September 22nd at 10:00 am via Zoom.
