Governor Releases Draft Water Resilience Portfolio
January 9, 2020
This week, the Administration released an updated draft of its Water Resilience Portfolio. The document includes a suite of recommended actions to help California cope with more extreme droughts and floods, rising temperatures, declining fish populations, aging infrastructure and other challenges. The California Natural Resources Agency, California Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Food and Agriculture developed the draft to fulfill Governor Gavin Newsom’s April 29 executive order calling for a portfolio of actions to ensure the state’s long-term water resilience and ecosystem health.
CSAC requested feedback from counties and submitted comments during the initial development of this portfolio on October 2nd. You may view those comments at CSAC’s website here.
The Administration is requesting further stakeholder comments on the recently released draft. You can find a copy of the latest draft Water Resiliency Portfolio here.
CSAC plans to submit a second comment letter on the new portfolio and is requesting feedback from counties by February 3rd. Please email your comments to CSAC AENR Legislative Analyst, Nick Cronenwett at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please feel free to email Nick if you have any questions.
