Sustainable Ag Land Grant Workshops
May 25, 2017
The Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) Program will host several technical workshops about grant applications prior to the August 1 deadline. The SALC program is funded through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. SALC offers grants to design and implement a local or regional agricultural land conservation strategy that reduces greenhouse gas emissions through the long-term protection of agricultural lands under threat of conversion by promoting regional growth within certain boundaries. It also offers grants for permanent agricultural easements to protect important agricultural lands under the threat of conversion.
The workshops will be held in Gilroy (Monday, June 5), Ventura (Thursday, June 22) and via webinar (Thursday, June 15). The workshops are an opportunity for participants to discover if their projects are eligible for funding, to learn what constitutes a successful application, and to receive assistance analyzing projects.
