U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance Announces Two Notice of Funding Availabilities

The U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance released information on two funding opportunities, both of which are designed to support the collaboration between mental health services and the criminal justice system.

FY 2024 Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JMHCP)

The FY 2024 Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program grant is open to counties and other entities. It is designed to assist in the advancement and strategic implementation of strategies relating to pretrial, prosecution, courts, and probation/parole. Funding is intended to be utilized for adults with mental health conditions in marginalized communities. Interested parties are encouraged to learn more about this opportunity here. Please note two dates of importance for this opportunity: Applicants must register via Grants.gov and submit two forms by May 9 and complete and submit the full application by May 14.

FY 2024 Connect and Protect: Law Enforcement Behavioral Heath Response Program

The FY 2024 Connect and Protect: Law Enforcement Behavioral Health Response Program grant is available for entities who wish to engage in a two-step process of 1) creating comprehensive plans and 2) implementing projects, relating to the overarching goal of supporting the collaboration between law enforcement and behavioral health entities in responding to those with behavioral health disorders. Those interested are encouraged to learn more about this opportunity here. Please note two dates of importance for this opportunity: Applicants must register via Grants.gov and submit two forms by May 1 and complete and submit the full application by May 6.
