The process to update the Fire Hazard Severity Zones (FHSZ) is
still underway with deadlines in place to finalize State and
Local Area Responsibilities. We are currently in the public
comment period phase with comments due April 4th of
this year. Then, the map will show the State Responsibility Areas
followed by the Local Responsibility Areas County by County.
Local agencies will need to adopt ordinance and provide a copy to
the State Board of Forestry and Fire Protection within 30 days
after adoption.
