Health and Human Services Policy Committee
The Health and Human Services (HHS) Policy Committee has responsibility for the development of policies and proposals relating to the following: aging and long-term care, substance use disorder, behavioral health services, public health, county public hospitals, the Medically Indigent Services Program, the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program, CalFresh, foster care, child welfare services, adult protective services, the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program, the General Assistance (GA) program and homelessness. Together, these programs represent approximately one-third of the state’s General Fund expenditures.
