The Marin County Human Resources Department and the Marin County Department of Finance are announcing a recruitment for the position of Administrative Services Manager.

There is one full-time, three-year, fixed-term vacancy. Continuation of this fixed-term position is dependent upon on-going funding.

As an integral member of the Marin County Department of Finance management team, the Administrative Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing the administrative, fiscal, technical and clerical support functions, including budget development, financial administration and reporting, purchasing, contract administration, management analysis, personnel and payroll administration, systems administration and program evaluation. In addition, the Administrative Services Manager will serve as departmental representative to various committees and supervise a team of four administrative support members.

Qualifications:

The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has vast experience in preparing and administering budgets and understanding fiscal management in a governmental setting; redesigning business processes and implementing effective change in organizations; writing policies and procedures; utilizing complex automated financial systems; and effectively addressing the needs of both the department and customer. In addition, the ideal candidate possesses a depth of supervisory experience which includes team building, performance management and evaluation, and employee development and coaching; experience working with both internal and external clients (vendors and consultants); strong analytical and critical thinking skills; superior interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; independently seeks opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement; and thrives working in a fast-paced, progressive organization.

Minimum Qualifications: Typically, equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, accounting, economics or a field related to the work and three years of fiscal reporting, accounting, budgetary and related administrative support experience. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year for year basis.
