Description:

San Mateo County currently has a leadership opportunity for an Assistant Director of our Information Services Department (ISD) in Redwood City, CA. The Department has 115 full-time employees and plans to spend $60 million in Fiscal Year 2014-2015.

Reporting to the County Chief Information Officer, the Assistant Director will negotiate agreements and hold vendors and contractors accountable; prioritize and manage projects to be completed on-time and within budget; direct and supervise department staff by establishing goals, priorities and performance standards; and assisting with preparing and administering the department’s budget, service catalog and rates.

Qualifications:

We are seeking an inspirational leader and positive change agent with a passion for public service and commitment to delivering high quality technology services to San Mateo County and our residents. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Sciences, Business or Public Administration, or related discipline and 6 years of increasingly responsible experience performing duties related to information services management in a large, complex agency, including 2 years of experience in a senior-level administrative or management position. The results-oriented professional we are seeking will have excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, customer service and project management skills.
