Description:

Effective October 1, 2022 the new salary for Assistant Director of Public Health is $113,401.60- $151,964.80. This is an assistant department director classification that assists in overseeing and directing and participates in all activities of the Department of Public Health including short- and long-term planning as well as development and administration of departmental policies, procedures, and services. This class provides assistance to the Director of Public Health in a variety of administrative, coordinative, analytical, and liaison capacities. Successful performance of the work requires knowledge of public policy, County functions and activities, including the role of the Board of Supervisors, and the ability to develop, oversee, and implement projects and programs in a variety of areas.

Qualifications:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Sciences, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or any closely related field; and Five (5) years relevant experience in a professional field, including three (3) years supervisory and management experience.
