Description:

Marina (pop 22,781) is the youngest city on beautiful Monterey Peninsula along California’s Central Coast and offers some of the most affordable housing in the area. This fiscally sound city has healthy reserves and a FY22-23 General Fund budget of $29.8 million. The Assistant Finance Director reports to the Director of Finance and supervises 3.5 FTEs. The ideal candidate will be a technically strong high performing finance professional with excellent interpersonal skills. With responsibility for day-to-day internal operations in payroll, AP, and AR, this individual will be comfortable balancing competing demands. The ideal candidate will be an effective people manager with a history of achieving results through others as well as adept at managing their own workload.

Qualifications:

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and four (4) years of increasingly responsible, professional accounting experience, including supervisory; government experience preferred. Any combination of education/ experience providing necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
