$9,978.90 – $11,002.02

Description:

Under general direction, the Assistant Tax Collector directs, manages, supervises, and coordinates the billing and collection of secured, unsecured, supplemental and transient occupancy taxes and the issuance and control of business and other licenses and permits; and coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies, and the general public.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Either: 1a. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, economics, finance, business administration, public administration or other closely related field.
AND
1b. Three years of full-time paid experience supervising/managing the activities and staff of a tax and/or revenue program involved in the assessment, billing or collection of property taxes.

Or: 2. Seven years of full-time paid experience in a tax and/or revenue program involved in the assessment, billing or collection of property taxes, three years of which must have included experience supervising/managing activities and program staff.
Note Applicable to Pattern 2: Completion of coursework from an accredited college or university in accounting, economics, finance, business administration, public administration or other closely related field may be substituted for up to four years of the required non-supervisory/management experience on the basis of 3.0 semester units (4.0 quarter units) = 1 month of work experience.
